Having worked in the petrochemical industry for the last 20 years, I have always been interested in alternative means of power.
Like most of us, I am not naive enough to believe that fossil fuels will last forever and am always intrigued when a potential new way to generate power emerges.

I can see why many people oppose wind turbines when placed in places of natural beauty, which is basically terrain that is usually unsuitable for housing. I also feel, however, that they can sometimes look rather majestic with their slowly rotating blades silhouetted against the skyline, and seem almost like a sign of hope.
Nuclear power may seem a viable and proven alternative, but there are often many drawbacks and risks involved with the technology, not to mention the waste products.
We are always on the look out for new methods of generating power, whereby the individual can become self sufficient, despite or current greed for energy.
